God sent His only Son to die a horrible death on a cross for our sins, He does not take lightly those who reject that Gift. In the Old Testament, the lawbreakers were put to death on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Those that have rejected Jesus will be put into the lake of fire forever. Their souls will suffer torment for all ages to come. Physical death can be painful for any human, but those that have not accepted Jesus have no hope for eternity. Their souls will endure punishment forever. “Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess”. We can choose to do it now and spend an eternity with God or wait and be banished from the presence of God forever.. Sin is a deadly disease and we know the cure. If your family, friend or acquaintance had a deadly disease and you had the cure, wouldn’t you share it with them? Take a moment to pray for those that are lost. God will prepare their heart for you to speak to them. Don’t be afraid of rejection, it isn’t you they are rejecting, it is Jesus and He can handle it.
10 Who among you fears the Lord and obeys his servant?
If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light,
trust in the Lord and rely on your God.
11 But watch out, you who live in your own light
and warm yourselves by your own fires.
This is the reward you will receive from me:
You will soon fall down in great torment.—Isaiah 50:10, 11 (NLT)
Our lifestyles and daily walk should let those around us know that we are striving to be obedient to God. We live by His standards, not the standards of society. Those who have set their own standards and think that living up to them is good enough are in for a huge surprise. None of us are good enough to earn our way to heaven. Salvation was paid for at the cross by Jesus. We cannot earn it, it is a free gift. Anyone who thinks there is more than one way to get to heaven needs to re-read John 14:6. 6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. The way is singular. If you try any other way (walk in your own light), you will end up in “great torment”.
