4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.–Romans 6:4,5 (NKJV)
Every new morning should remind us of the newness of life we have in Christ Jesus. This should be especially noted in our celebrations of the new year that God has given us. Just as Jesus has forgiven us and forgotten our sins, it is a time for us to wipe all the slates clean and start over. Can we forget the wrongs? No, not really. Can we forgive the wrongdoer? Yes, we can, that is our choice and it is God’s requirement for us to receive His forgiveness.
14 If you forgive people when they sin against you, then your Father will forgive you when you sin against Him and when you sin against your neighbor. 15 But if you do not forgive your neighbors’ sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.–Mathew 6:14,15 (The Voice)
