Take Up Your Cross

God is waiting to show you the way.

God is waiting to show you the way.

John 3:16,17 (The Voice) 16 For God expressed His love for the world in this way: He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not face everlasting destruction, but will have everlasting life. 17 Here’s the point. God didn’t send His Son into the world to judge it; instead, He is here to rescue a world headed toward certain destruction.
God made it easy and simple to accept His free gift of salvation. Even a child can understand it and be saved. Just believing John 3:16 will get you to heaven. We like that part!
But living a Holy life requires a bit more commitment to Jesus.
Luke 9:23-25 (The Voice) 23 If any of you want to walk My path, you’re going to have to deny yourself. You’ll have to take up your cross every day and follow Me. 24 If you try to avoid danger and risk, then you’ll lose everything. If you let go of your life and risk all for My sake, then your life will be rescued, healed, made whole and full. 25 Listen, what good does it do you if you gain everything—if the whole world is in your pocket—but then your own life slips through your fingers and is lost to you?
You can start enjoying your walk with God right now. He isn’t asking you to do this by yourself. He is asking you to join Him in His work. You will find that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. compared to the time and effort you have spent serving satan, serving Jesus will be easy. You have had to earn your wages with satan (the wages of sin are death) but every good gift that God gives you is free. You don’t work to earn His favor, you join in His work because you love Him.

  1. Our days are filled with good gifts from our Father! “Every good gift bestowed, every perfect gift received comes to us from above, courtesy of the Father of lights. He is consistent.” (James 1:16) “Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name…and forget not all His benefits….who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Ps 103:1-5) Thank You, Father, for these endless gifts. You first gave us Your greatest gift, Jesus, and then continue to overflow our life with one gift after another! Your gifts cannot be bought at Walmart! They come directly from Your heart! Amen!
